Three Rohingya children drowned in a waterbody at Bhasan Char in Hatia upazila of Noakhali district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased were Md Anisur Rahman Anas, 6, and Md Jamal Hossain, 9, sons of Dalilur Rahman, a resident of Cluster no. 54 under Ashrayan-3 project in Bhasan Char, and Md Hafsa, 5, son of Abdus Sabur, of the same cluster.
Quoting locals, Bhasan Char Police Station officer in-charge Md Rafiqul Islam said three children fell into a waterbody in Chairman Dighi area around 11 pm when they were playing beside it.
Later, they were rescued and taken to a hospital where the on-duty doctor declared them dead, the OC added.
