Amir Hossain, a judge of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court and also a member of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) passed away on Tuesday morning.
He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka around 8am.
He had been suffering from cancer of the pancreas and dengue fever.
ICT Prosecutor Tapos Kanti Bol confirmed the death to Jago News.
However, Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain expressed his deep shock at the death of Amir.
To be noted, Amir was appointed as an Additional Justice at High Court Division on February 9 in 2015. Later, he was also appointed as a member of ICT.
