A court in Dhaka on Sunday granted bail to film actress Eka in a case filed for alleged torture on her domestic help.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid passed the order after a bail hearing.
Earlier on August 10, the actress secured bail from the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqur Rahman in another case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
Now there is no bar for her release as she got bail in both cases, sources in the court said.
The two cases were filed against Eka with Hatirjheel Police Station on July 31.
Out of, one was filed by the domestic help for allegedly torturing her, and another by police for allegedly possessing drugs.
On the day, police arrested Eka from her Hatirjheel house in the capital on the charge of torturing house help.
The law enforcers said they also recovered five pieces of Yaba pills, around 50 grams of hemp, and a half bottle of liquor from her possession.
It was learned that actress Eka hit her domestic help with brick after she had demanded her two-month wage arrears., leaving her injured.
Hatirjheel Police Station officer in-charge Abdur Rashid said they found injury marks on the hand, leg, and head of the victim.
