Restrictions extended till Aug 10, markets to reopen on Aug 11

The government has extended the ongoing restrictions till August 10 from August 5 to stop current spread of Coronavirus in the country. 

Besides, markets and shopping malls will be reopened across the country from August 11 on condition of taking coronavirus vaccines. 

The decision was taken at an inter-ministerial meeting held on Tuesday with Liberation War Minister AKM Mozammel Haque in the chair.

The minister confirmed the matter to the journalists after the meeting. 

Earlier, the meeting was held at the cabinet conference room at 11:15am. 

Health Minister Jahid Maleque and Cabinet Secretary Anwarul Islam were present among others during this time. Some ministers and state-ministers joined the meeting virtually. 

Liberation War Minister said, health ministry will vaccinate 1 crore people in the next one week. The vaccine will be given simultaneously at 14,000 centers.

“Public transports will be operated from districts by-rotation. The vehicles will be run on a limited scale,” said Mozammel.

To be noted, the government announced 14-day fresh lockdown from July 23 following an alarming surge in coronavirus cases across the country.
