A total of five Eid-congregation (Jamaat) will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital in phases on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, one of the greatest religious festivals of Muslims, like every year.
The Islamic Foundation confirmed the matter in a press release on Sunday.
The first congregation will be held at Baitul Mukarram at 7am led by Mufti Mizanur Rahman while the second congregation will be held at 8am and Imam Mufti Muhibbullahil Baki Nadvi will lead it.
The third congregation (Jamaat) will be held at 9am under the leadership of Maulana Ehsanul Haque.
Maulana Mohiuddin Qasim and Maulana Waliur Rahman Khan will lead the fouth and fifth eid jamaat at 10am and 10:45am respectively.
If any Imam is absent in five Jamaats, Maulana Mohammad Abdullah, Mufti of Islamic Foundation will act as the alternate Imam.
The Islamic Foundation (IF) has requested the Imam-Khatib of the mosque, the mosque management Committee, musallis and all concerned to ensure proper security measures following the notification issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs on July 12 to perform the Eid-ul-Azha prayers amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
