The Dhaka University authorities have again deferred the admission tests for the academic year 2020-21 until October 1.
Earlier, the entry tests were scheduled to start from July 31 but were deferred considering the transmission situation of the coronavirus pandemic.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the DU deans' committee held on Tuesday, with Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair.
Asked about this, Pro Vice-Chancellor (education) Prof ASM Maksud Kamal told Jago News, "Admission tests of the first year have been deferred as coronavirus infections increased. As per the new decision, these will begin from October 1 through Ka unit (Science)."
The entry tests of Kha unit (Arts faculty), Ga unit (Business faculty), Gha unit (Social Science faculty), and Cha unit (Fine Arts faculty) will be held on October 2, 22, 23, and 9 respectively, he said.
