The Rapid Action Battalion members detained four people, including a couple, alongwith drugs from Kandirpar area in the district town on Tuesday afternoon.
They are Md Mizanur Rahman, 32, his wife Suraiya Akter, and Md Abdul Malek, residents of Oranyapur village, and Md Khorshed Alam, 47, of Rajmangalpur village in Adarsha Sadar upazila.
On information, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in Kandirpar area this morning and detained Mizanur Rahman, Abdul Malek, and Khorshed Alam alongwith 25 bottles of foreign liquor, RAB-11 commanding officer Talukder Nazmus Sakib told Jago News this afternoon.
Later, the law enforcers, as per the information gleaned from the trio, held Mizanur's wife Suraiya alongwith more bottles of liquor from their house, he added.
He also said the detainees admitted that they had long been involved in trading and distribution of different kinds of drugs in different places of the district.
