Twelve people died at the COVID-19 unit of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) in the last 24 hours. Five of them died of Coronavirus and the rest seven died of its symptoms.
Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani, Director of RMCH confirmed the deaths to Jago News on Wednesday morning.
He said, the twelve people died at different wards of the hospital from 8am on Tuesday to 8am on Wednesday. Of them, seven were male and five were female. Their ages are between 35 and 65 years.
He also said, of the deceased, eight were from Rajshahi, two from Chapainawabganj, one each from Natore and Naogaon.
However, 63 people were admitted to the hospital and 55 people were discharged in the last 24 years. 193 COVID patients and 267 with COVID symptoms are receiving treatment at the hospital, he added.
