The government removed Vice Chancellor of Islamic University (IU) Prof Abdul Hakim Sarker on Thursday.In a circular issued by the Education Ministry said President Abdul Hamid, who is also the Chancellor of the university, relieved Abdul Hakim of the post of IU VC.Prof Abdul Hakim of Dhaka University’s Social Welfare and Research Institute was made the IU VC on December 27, 2012.
