The body of a female student of Dhaka University has been recovered from Azimpur Government Staff Quarters in the capital.
Deceased Ishrat Jahan Tusti, 21, was the second year student of the English department. Hailed from Netrakona district, she lived in Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall, said Taposhi, who introduced herself as Tusti's classmate and one of the friends.
Md Saiful Islam, an official of Palashi Barack Fire Station, said the personnel receiving a phone call in 999 broke open the door of a bathroom on the ground floor of 19 no. building of Azimpur Government Staff Quarters around 7:30am and rescued the student.
She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty doctors declared her dead, he added.
