Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has proposed to raise the allocation for the health sector by Tk 3,484 from the outgoing financial year.
He made the proposal while unveiling a proposed budget of Tk 603,681 crore for the fiscal year 2021-22 in Jatiya Sangsad (JS) on Thursday.
In the last FY, the budgetary allocation for the sector was Tk 29,247 crore.
The proposal of increasing the allotment has, however, been made considering the programmes taken to fight coronavirus outbreak on a priority basis.
