The bail hearing of Prothom Alo’s senior reporter Rozina Islam has been ended in a case filed against her under the Official Secrets Act. The verdict in the case will be delivered on Sunday.
The bail hearing was held at the virtual court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah on Thursday. After the hearing, the magistrate said the verdict will be announced later.
Nizam Uddin, Sub Inspector and Shahbagh Police Station General Registrar Officer, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Earlier on Tuesday, the same court sent Rozina to the jail after rejecting the remand prayer filed against her. The court also fixed Thursday for bail plea of her.
To be noted, Rozina was confined to the health ministry inside the Secretariat for more than five hours before being handed over to Shahbagh Police Station on Monday night.
