The case filed against Prothom Alo’s senior reporter Rozina Islam under Official Secrets Act has been handed over to Detective Branch (DB) of police.
Confirming the matter, Mishu Biswas, Additional Deputy Commissioner of DB (Ramna Division), on Wednesday said the case was transferred to us. We have got the responsibility of investigating the case. We would investigate it following due procedure.
Earlier on Monday night, Shibbir Ahmed Usmani, Deputy Secretary of Health Services Division of the Health Ministry, filed the case with Shahbagh Police Station against her. Rozina was shown arrested in the case.
Rozina was confined to the health ministry inside the Secretariat for more than five hours before being handed over to Shahbagh Police Station on Monday night.
