Hefazat-e-Islam's Dhaka city assistant office secretary Mawlana Ehteshamul Haque Sakhi has been placed on four-day remand in a case filed over the violence at Shapla Chattar in the capital's Motijheel on May 5, 2013.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nibhana Khair on Friday passed the order after police produced him before the court, seeking 10-day remand in the case filed with Paltan Police Station.
Earlier on Thursday afternoon, Ehteshamul, also the secretary of Islami Chhatrasamaj, was arrested from Bangshal area in the capital.
