The Primary Education Completion (PEC) and Junior School Certificate (JSC) examinations will be held this year as usual as a proposal of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education seeking cancellation of the PEC examinations did not get the Cabinet approval.The regular weekly meeting of the Cabinet was held at parliament with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair on Monday.The Cabinet did not approve the proposal seeking cancellation of the PEC examination system at class V for introducing Primary School Certificate (PSC) examination system at class V III, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam said these in a briefing to reporters after the meeting.Mohammad Shafiul Alam said it would not be possible this year to cancel the PEC examination system as it would have to be done gradually through proper preparations since there are also some problems regarding necessary infrastructures.‘The PEC and JSC examinations will be held this year as usual,’ said the Cabinet Secretary adding that this is a huge activity.Ministers and State Ministers and secretaries concerned were present.
