Govt to extend lockdown till April 28

The government has decided to extend the ongoing lockdown till April 28 to stop the spread of Coronavirus.

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossen confirmed the matter to Jago News on Monday.

Earlier, a virtual inter-ministerial meeting organized by the Cabinet Division was held in this regard around 11am.  

On Sunday, National Technical Advisory Committee for COVID-19 affairs in their 31th meeting suggested to extend the lockdown for one more week. 

“The lockdown will remain till April 28 maintaining the previous restrictions,” said Farhad Hossen. 

He said, a summary of the lockdown proposal has been sent to Prime Minister. A gazette notification will be issued after her approval. 

To be noted, the government issued a “strict lockdown for eight days from April 14.
