Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman on Monday admitted at Jatiya Sangsad that, 16,603 posts of head teachers at primary school level are lying vacant.In response to a question of lawmaker AKHM Jahangir Hossain, the minister confirmed this information.The minister said, 8,348 posts remain vacant in government primary schools while 8,255 posts in registered primary school. He also added that, there are 60,695 posts of head teachers in primary schools across the across country. Of this 37,677 posts are vacant in government schools while 23,018 posts in registered schools.Mostafizur Rahman said, a total of 3,19,851 posts for assistant teachers are lying vacant. Of them 2,28,151 post for government schools and 91,700 posts for registered schools.
