Popular television director Chayanika Chowdhury has tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.
SM Kamruzzaman Sagor, general secretary of Directors' Guild, an organization of the television drama directors, said she caught the virus on Monday.
In a Facebook post, he said, "Drama and film director Chayanika Chowdhury are undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital after being infected with coronavirus. All pray for Didi (elder sister)."
Later contacted with Chayanika, she confirmed about her infection, and said she is now well but has cold.
"For the time being, I am well. I have no fever, cough, headache or breathing problem but cold. Tomorrow I will undergo chest scan. You all keep me in your prayers," she said.
