Legendary actor and writer Abul Hayat, who had been undergone treatment at a hospital in the capital, was discharged on Tuesday.
The National Film Award winer himself confirmed the matter to Jago News around 5pm.
"Alhamdulillah, I am well with wishes of all. My treatment is complete. Today the hospital authoties discharged me," he said.
Earlier, Abul Hayat was admitted to a hospital on Wednesday night after he had tested positive for coronavirus.
The former executive engineer of Dhaka WASA, he won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in Daruchini Dwip film in 2007, and bagged Ekushey Padak for his acting in 2015.
The popular actor starred in 1000 television dramas while wrote as many as 28 books.
He is, however, the father of actresses - Bipasha Hayat and Natasha Hayat - and father-in-laws of actors - Tauquir Ahmed and Shahed Sharif Khan.
