As many as 66 coronavirus deaths and 7,213 cases were reported in the last 24 hours, hitting the highest records of fatalities and infections in a day.
With this, the country's total deaths and cases stood at 9,384 and 6,51,652 respectively, the health directorate said in a press release on Tuesday.
Earlier on June 30 last year, and April 4, the government reported highest 64 coronavirus deaths, and 7,087 cases respectively.
Of the total patients, 5,58,383 recovered, with 2,969 made recovery in the last 24 hours.
The daily count came from test of 34,311 samples in the past day. With this, a total of 48,47,935 samples have, so far, been tested.
Bangladesh first reported its COVID-19 cases on March 8 last year. Since then it has been struggling to curb spread of the highly contagious virus.
Coronavirus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year, and then its outbreak was seen across the world.
However, the epidemic infected 132,499,3965 people and killed 2,875,844 across the globe till date, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles coronavirus cases and deaths.
Total number of people who recovered from the deadly virus reached 106,831,250 across the world.
