A court in Rajshahi on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against four BNP leaders in a case filed for allegedly making derogatory comments on the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and delivering a speech which contains indication of killing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The accused are: BNP chairperson's advisor and former Rajshahi City mayor Mizanur Rahman Minu, the party organizing secretary Ruhul Kuddus Talukder Dulu, former RCC mayor, and Rajshahi BNP president Mohammad Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul and general secretary Shafiqul Haque Milon.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Magistrate Court-4 (subordinate court, Boalia) passed the order after a hearing on the case investigation report submitted by Rajpara Police Station officer in-charge Mazharul Islam.
The court also fixed April 26 for next hearing in the case, police, and sources in the court confirmed.
Earlier on March 9, Rajshahi city Awami League law affairs secretary advocate Mosabbirul Islam lodged the sedition case.
In the lawsuit, he accused Mizanur Rahman Minu of making disrectful remarks on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in BNP's Rajshahi divisional rally on March 2.
He also alleged that Minu in the programme made a 'suggestive' speech of conducing another 15 August.
