A helpline number (16128) has been launched in all eight Export Processing Zones (EPZs) in the country so that the workers can complain to the authorities about any problem happened with them.
Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) on Sunday afternoon opened the service in a programme at its complex at Dhanmondi in the capital through videoconferencing.
It was said in the programme that the labourers can anytime make their complaint calling through the helpline number.
The authorities concerned will take initiative within highest seven days to resolve the problem after examining the complaint, and update the complainant.
Presided over by BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Md Nazrul Islam, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq attended the inaugation programme as chief guest while Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, principal secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was special guest.
