Police detained BNP Executive Committee Member Nipun Roy Chowdhury on Sunday afternoon.
Plainclothes police picked her from her Rayer Bazar house in the capital around 3:30pm, family members said.
The law enforcers did not mention any reason behind her, BNP's Women and Children Rights Forums member, detention, they said, adding that she is on the bail in all cases filed against her.
Abdus Salam Azad, the party's Dhaka divisional assistant organizing secretary, confirmed the matter to Jago News but he could not say why she was held.
