Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu on Sunday said total 1717 online news portal applied to information department for their registration. There are 41 television channels, 28 FM radios, 32 community radios and 1028 approved newspapers in the country, Hasanul Haque Inu said these in his answer to a question asked by MP Mohammad Elias in the parliament in the morning. Government don’t know about the actual number of online news portal and other news portals so government is now working on implementing policies to bring these portals into rules, he answered. He also said government is working with online media policy-2016 and recently published an advertisement for TV, Radio and online news portals to complete their registration.
