Writ seeking deferment of BCS preliminary exam rejected

The High Court on Tuesday rejected a writ petition filed demanding the 41st BCS preliminary examination to be deferred.

The HC bench of Justice Md Khasruzzaman and Justice Md Mahmud Hossain Talukder passed the order after hearing on the petition.

As a result of the court order, the test would be held on March 19 fixed by Bangladesh Public Service Commission on January 13. 

In the hearing, lawyer Robiul Alam Budhu stood for the writ petitioner while deputy attorney general Bipul Bagmar for the prosecution.

Earlier, the job seekers staged human chains in front of Jatiya Press Club and at Dhaka University premises on different occasions demanding the authorities concerned defer the 41st BCS preliminary exam.

They said they don't want to participate in the exam amid the rist of coronavirus pandemic.
