The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) on Tuesday approved six projects worth around Tk 5,619.46 crore, including about Tk 4,122.99 crore housing project for the financially uneasy freedom fighters.
The approval came from an Ecnec meeting of the current fiscal year (FY21) held with the Ecnec Chairperson Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
The premier attended the meeting through videoconferencing from her Ganabhaban residence in the capital.
After the meeting, Planning Division Secretary Mohammad Joynul Bari told the reporters, "A total of six projects were nodded in today's meeting. Out of the approved projects, three are revised and three new."
Out of the total project cost, about Tk 5,519 crore will come from state exchequer, Tk 57 crore from foreign loan, and rest Tk 42 crore from own fund of the organizations concerned, he said.
