The rail communication of Kushtia with Rajbari and Faridpur was restored on Saturday afternoon, around 27 hours after it had been suspended following a collision between a railway trolley and a goods train.
Rail communication on the route returned to normalcy around 5pm after 170 railway staff removed derailed five bogies and repaired the damaged rail line.
Earlier at around 2:30pm on Friday, a railway trolley and a goods train collided in Milpara area of Kushtia district town, disrupting the rail link of the district with Rajbari and Faridpur.
