HT Imam, advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, was buried at Banani graveyard on Thursday evening.
His second namaz-e-janaza was held on Gulshan Azad mosque premises after Asr prayer.
Earlier, his first namaz-e-janaza was held in Sirajganj this morning after his body was flown there.
Later, his body was kept at central Shaheed Minar for the public to pay their last tributes from 12pm to 3:30pm.
Hasan Jahid, Deputy Press Secretary of Prime Minister, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Imam had been suffering from kidney-related complications and was admitted to CMH some two weeks ago. His condition, however, started deteriorating on Tuesday, according to Awami League sources.
He was pronounced dead at around 1:15am on Thursday.
He was seen as a key figure in the revival and subsequently unbroken run in power enjoyed by the Awami League since victory in the December, 2008 general elections.
Imam served as an adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina throughout this period. First, from 2009-2014 as an adviser on public administration affairs, and then from 2014 on political affairs.
