A student of Jahanginagar University (JU) have been killed in a road accident in Bagatipara upazila of Natore district.
Deceased Abdullah Al Mahmud Shafi was the third year student of Public Administration department.
The dept chairman Prof Nurul Amin said a motorcycle Shafi was riding hit hard a roadside tree while going to Bonpara from Bagatipara on Wednesday as he lost control over it, leaving him critically injured.
He was first taken to Bagatipara Upazila Health Complex, and then to Natore Sadar Hospital. Later, he was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead, Nurul said.
Rajpara Police Station sub-inspector Shaheen Akter Tumpa said they were informed that a JU student named Abdullah Al Mahmud succumbed to his injuries after he met a road mishap.
JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam, however, in a statement expressed her profound shock at the death of Shafi and showed sympathy to the bereaved family.
