Bangladesh have included Mosaddek Hossain, Mohammad Naim and Al-Amin Hossain in the 19-man squad for the upcoming white-ball tour of New Zealand. Spinner Taijul Islam has been left out.
Shakib Al Hasan was unavailable for selection after he was granted paternity leave, as reported by Cricbuzz earlier.
Taijul was a part of the recently-concluded series against the West Indies but didn't get a game. He last played a limited-overs game for Bangladesh in March 2020 against Zimbabwe.
Mosaddek Hossain, 25, last turned up for Bangladesh in a T20I game against India way back in November 2019. Bangladesh have added him for his batting in the middle order and handy offbreaks.
Naim, 21, is an opener who made his debut in India in 2019. Al-Amin Hossain comes back into the setup. He was missing from the international scene for five years before making a comeback in the series against Zimbabwe at home, in March 2020.
Following the forced changes in the itinerary due to COVID-19 related challenges, Bangladesh will now leave for the tour on February 24. The three ODIs will be played on March 20, 23 and 26 in Dunedin, Christchurch and Wellington respectively, while the T20Is will be held on March 28, 30 and April 1 in Hamilton, Napier and Auckland respectively.
