RCB buy Glenn Maxwell for Rs 14.25cr

As expected, Glenn Maxwell lit up the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 auction on Thursday in Chennai. The Australian all-rounder triggered a massive bidding war between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings.

In the end, Virat Kohli-led RCB managed to buy Glenn Maxwell for Rs 14.25 crore. Maxwell will head to RCB for IPL 2021 as the Big Show will add firepower to the RCB batting unit. A middle-order of captain Kohli, AB de Villiers and Maxwell could give opposition teams sleepless nights.

Notably, Glenn Maxwell has always managed to set the auction on fire. Since 2013, Maxwell was never sold for less than Rs 5 crore at an IPL auction. He was bought by Kings XI Punjab for Rs 10.75 crore.

However, Maxwell has surpassed his previous records after getting Rs 14.25 crore from the Virat Kohli-led RCB.

Notably, Glenn Maxwell had expressed interest to play for the RCB, saying he would love to share the dressing room with AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli.
