Bangladesh on Friday reported five deaths from coronavirus, this is the lowest record of fatality in last 10 months.
With this, the country's death toll stood at 8,253, the Directorate General of Health Services said in a press release.
During the period, 404 more people were diagnosed with the virus, raising the total infection to 5,39,975.
Of the total patients, 4,86,393 recovered, with 422 made recovery in the last 24 hours.
The daily count came from test of 14,238 samples in the past day. With this, a total of 38,22,345 samples have, so far, been tested.
Bangladesh first reported its COVID-19 cases on March 8. Since then the country has been struggling to limit spread of the highly contagious virus.
Coronavirus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year, and then spread to newer countries and territories.
Till date, the epidemic infected 108,354,740 people and killed 2,380,451 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
However, total number of people who recovered from the coronavirus pandemic reached 80,405,951 across the world.
