The High Court on Thursday issued a rule asking to know why action should not be taken against Chattogram WASA Managing Director engineer AKM Fazlullah after looking into the allegations of corruption, irregularities and nepotism surfaced against him.
The bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman gave the order after a hearing on the allegations.
A dweller of the city made the complaints to the Chattogram divisional director of the Anti-Corruption Commission on September 11 last year.
After hearing a writ petition filed seeking its directives to probe the complaints against Fazlullah, the same HC bench in September asked the ACC to inform what measures it has taken or whether it has taken any step in this regard.
Chattogram dweller Hasan Ali lodged the writ petition on September 20.
