The International Crimes Tribunal has sentenced three war criminals to life term imprisonment in a case lodged over crimes against humanity during the war of liberation, 1971.
A three-member judicial panel led by chairman of the tribunal Justice Mohammad Shahinur Islam passed the order on Thursday.
The court also sentenced five convicts to 20 years in jail and acquitted another in the case.
On March 4, 2018, the tribunal framed charges against 11 people in Mymensingh with murder of four people, detention of nine people, robbery, arson, kidnapping, torture and extortion.
According to the case statement, they committed these crimes in Sadhua village of Niguari union under Pagla Police Station and Rouha village under Tangab union in Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh district.
The investigation against the accused started on October 16, 2014.
The convicts sentenced for life term imprisonment are -Mohammad Samsuzzaman alias Abul Kalam, A F M Foyjullah and Abdur Razzak.
Five people who got 20 years in jail are Md Khalilur Rahman Meer, Md Abdullah, Md Roich Uddin Azadi alias Akkel Ali, Sirajul Islam Tota and Alim Uddin Khan.
The man who was acquitted in the case is Abdul Latif.
