The deadline of submitting applications for the 43rd BCS preliminary examination has been extended for two months.
Bangladesh Public Service Commission made the decision in a meeting on Wednesday, the commission chief Sohrab Hossain told Jago News.
PSC earlier had decided to close application process by January 31 but today it extended the deadline giving importance to the request of the University Grant Commission, he said.
Alongside, the possible timeline for holding the preliminary exam has also been deferred to August 6, he added.
"If everything remains okay, the preliminary test would take place by this time," the PSC chairman said.
The UGC had sent a letter to the PSC requesting it to extend the 43rd BCS application deadline as the universities could not hold honours and masters final examinations in time due to the coronavirus pandemic that left a vast number of candidates ineligible to apply.
