The number of vehicles without fitness certificates across the country is 4.81 lakh, Road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader today said in the parliament.
Replying to a question of lawmaker M Abdul Latif, Quader, also ruling Awami League general secretary, said that the authorities concerned have taken different measures to prevent it.
Authorities were sending SMS to owners to renew the fitness certificates said Quader adding that fine and dumping of vehicles without fitness have also continued.
In reply to another question of lawmaker Liakot Hossen, he said the construction work of Padma Bridge would be completed by June next year.
