Seven people including six of a family were killed as a bus hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Mymensingh on Sunday noon.
The incident took place on Netrokona-Mymensingh highway near Gachtola bazar area in Tarakanda upazila.
The deceased are CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Rakibul Hasan, 30, of Charlakkhipur village in Mymensingh, Faruk Hossen, 30, of Pechualenji village in Netrokona’s Purbadhala upazila, his wife Masuma Khatun, their three-day-old child, his sister Julekha Khatun, brother Nizam Uddin, 32 and sister-in-law Josna Begum.
Confirming the matter, Nayan Das, officer-in-charge of Shyamganj Highway Police Station, said they seized the bus but its driver managed to flee away from the spot.
When contacted, Abul Khayer, officer-in-charge of Tarakanda Police Station, said a Dhaka-bound bus of Shah Jalal Paribahan hit a Netrokona-bound auto-rickshaw, leaving seven people dead on the spot.
