No DJ party will be allowed during celebration of the 31st night on the eve of New Year 2021 to curb the coronavirus spread, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam BPM said on Monday.
"People's gathering and partying in open space on the 31st night will not be allowed. DJ party will also be disallowed," he said.
The highest security measures would be taken centering Christmas Day (December 25), the biggest religious festival of the Christian community, and the 31st night, the DMP chief said.
He said this in a coordination meeting on maintaining law and order and traffic management on the occasion of 'Borodin and 31st night-2020 celebration' held at DMP headquarters.
Apart from beefing up security in churches, additional security measures would be taken in Christian inhabited areas and establishments on the occasion of Borodin or Christmas Day, he said.
