Seven people, including a bride, died as a trawler capsized in Meghna river in Hatia upazila of Noakhali district on Tuesday afternoon.
The trawler capsize took place in Keyaringchar area on the way to Bhola's Manpura, confirmed Hatia Police Station officer in-charge Abul Khair.
Local sources said a trawler carrying 80-85 passengers left Nalerchar Shantir Ghat in the upazila for Bhola's Manpura but it sank in Keyaringchar area.
After the incident, navy police and coast guard members in association with locals recovered seven bodies, including of the bride and three other women, and three children.
Local Rafique and police constable Shohag who joined the rescue operation said they rescued at least 30 passengers and efforts on to resuce the other missing.
Confirming the retrieved bodies and rescued people, Hatia Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Imran said several others remained missing yet.
Hatia Police Station inspector (investigation) Kanchan Kanti Das and Morshed Bazar Investigation Center incharge Abdul Halim said identities of the deceased, except bride Taslima, could not be known immediately.
It also could not be learned yet how passengers remained missing in the incident, they added.
