The fire that broke out in a residential building in Banani area of capital Dhaka has been brought under control after about an hour's frantic efforts.
The fire fighters doused the blaze at around 4:5pm, said Ershad Hossain, duty officer at the headquarters of Fire Service and Civil Defense.
But causes of the fire and amount of loss could not be known primarily, the official added.
Earlier around 3pm, a fire originated in a residential building beside T&T Colony area.
Being informed, eight units of fire extinguishers rushed to the spot and worked to put out the fire.
