The Rapid Action Battalion members arrested a young man, who threatened to kill Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan by hacking, from Derai upazila of Sunamganj on Tuesday.
The arrested person was identified as Mohsin Talukdar, 25, a resident of Shahpur Talukdarpara in Jalalabad area of Sylhet.
RAB-9 ASP Kamruzzaman and Sunamganj RAB commander Faisal Ahmed confirmed the arrest.
"The young man who threatened to kill Shakib Al Hasan has been arrested from South Sunamganj a while ago. He is now being brought to Sylhet. Details would be informed later," Kamruzzaman told Jago News at 12 noon.
Coming to live around 12:06am on Sunday, Mohsin from his facebook account gave a threat to hack Shakib Al Hasan to death for 'hurting religious sentiment' by opening Kali puja at a mandap in India’s Kolkata recently.
A digital security act case was filed against Mohsin Talukder with Jalalabad Police Station, Sylhet on Monday night in this connection.
