The death toll from coronavirus has reached 6,173 as 14 more people died from the disease in the last 24 hours.
Besides, 1,531 more tested positive for the virus, raising the number of such cases to 430,496.
Directorate General of Health Services said in a press release on Saturday.
In the last 24 hours, 11,795 samples were examined and out of them 1,531 got positive results for the virus. Apart from, 1,462 more recovered from the virus, taking the total recoveries to 347,849, the press release added.
Bangladesh reported its first three cases of COVID-19 on March 8.
The new coronavirus pandemic first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year. The World Health Organisation declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.
The deadly virus spread to 213 countries and territories, killing some 1,310,978 people globally, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
As many as 53,833,627 people worldwide caught the virus. Among them, 37,580,303 people recovered from the virus, the website said.
