An elderly woman was burned to death and eight other people suffered injuries as a fire broke out at a house in Uttar Kattoli area of Chattogram city on Sunday midnight.
Peyari Begum, 60, died while undergoing treatment at the ICU of burn unit of Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) around 12:30pm on Monday.
The injured people are Mizanur Rahman, 42, Saiful Islam, 25, Bibi Sultana, 36, Manha, 2, Maher, 8, Riaz, 22, Zahan, 21 and Sumaia, 18.
Confirming the matter to Jago News, CMCH’s burn unit Dr Rafiq Uddin Ahmed said the injured seven people are in critical condition.
