A leader of dacoit gang was killed in an alleged gunfight with police Early Saturday.The deceased is Kamal alias Kamal Fakir, son of Afsar Fakir of village Shewla Danga of the Sadar upazila.A homemade shot gun, 2 round bullets, saw and machetes have been recovered from his possession.Kamal was accused in 9 cases including murder and rape with Magura Sadar Thana and Kushtia Thana.Sub Inspector of Magura Sadar Thana Milon told Jagonews24.com that, Kamal was trying to commit robbery keeping the tree stump on Magura-Jhenaidah road. Hearing the news police rushed to the spot.Sensing the presence of the police, he opened fire on them. In replying police also fired shot and Kamal injured critically on the spot. Later Kamal was sent to Magura Sadar Hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead.
