The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered a top official of a private company to surrender before a lower court by 24 hours in connection with BASIC Bank graft cases.The accused was identified as Faizun Nabi Chowdhury, managing director of Farsi International.A four-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha passed the order after hearing two petitions filed by the government seeking cancellation of his High Court bail order.Earlier, on September 21 and 22 last year anti-graft watchdog Anti-Corruption Commission filed two corruption cases against Faizun Nabi with Gulshan Police Station.The High Court on May 29 this year granted him bail in both the cases.The government recently filed two petitions to the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the High Court order. In the petitions, the government said the HC bench had no jurisdiction to grant bail to an accused in a corruption case filed by the ACC.
