A court in Gazipur on Wednesday convicted and sentenced two young men to death for killing their friend in 2015.The court also fined them Taka 10,000 each.The convicts are M Parvej, 23, and Amit Hasan, 21, son of Amjad Hossain, residents of Chhoto Latifpur village in Kaliakor upazila.According to the prosecution the convicted persons stabbed their friend Masud over playing card on 26 September, last year.Later, Masud succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital on the same day.After the incident, victim’s father Nurul Islam filed a murder case with Kaliakoir police station against the duo.Sahidul Alam, Assistant-sub-inspector (ASI) of the police station, also investigation officer of the case, after investigation submitted charge-sheet with the court against them.After examining the records and 10 witnesses, District and Sessions Judge AKM Enamul Haque announced the judgment in presence of them.
