Md Ilias Bhuiyan, Director of Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) and also Joint Secretary has been killed in a road accident in the capital.
The incident took place at Shonir Akhra in Jatrabari on Sunday night.
Fayjul Haque, Associate Editor (publication and feature) of PIB confirmed the death to Jago News.
He said, Ilias was returning to Dhaka from Narayanganj by a motorcycle. When he was reaching Shonir Akhra, a truck hit the motorcycle from behind. Ilias died on the spot and police took his body to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
His body will be taken to PIB at today’ noon and later will be taken to his hometown in Cumilla’s Muradnagar, Fayjul added.
