The High Court has directed the authorities of Titas Gas Ltd to pay primarily Tk five lakh to each family of the victims who lost their lives and suffered injuries in air conditioner explosion at a mosque in Narayanganj.
The HC directed to submit the money to the Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner (DC) within seven days.
The HC also issued a rule to know why the direction would not be given to pay Tk 50 lakh to the victims as compensation.
Power, energy and mineral Resources Secretary, the authorities of Titas Gas, Narayanganj DC and other concerned people were made the respondents to the rule in four weeks.
The bench of HC Justice J B M Hasan and Justice Md Khairul Alam passed the order on Wednesday.
On September 4, twenty-eight people were killed and several others suffered burn injuries in the blast at Pashchim Talla Baitus Salam Mosque in the city after Esha prayers.
