At least ten people died when a trawler capsized in the Gumai River in Kalmakanda upazila of Netrokona on Wednesday morning.
Five children, three women and two men are among the deceased. Identities of them could not be known immediately.
The incident took place when the trawler with 36 passengers on board was going to Chakurakona in Netrokona from Madyanagar in Sunamganj.
Confirming the matter to Jago News, Deputy Commissioner of Netrokona Kazi Md Abdur Rahman said, a team of fire service are working on the spot to rescue the people.
