2 accused in UP chief murder cases killed in ‘gunfight’

Two accused in union parishad chairman killing case have been killed in an alleged gunfight with police at Gopalpur village of Joypurhat sadar upazila early Tuesday.During this time Officer-in-charge of Joypurhat sadar thana Farid Hosen along with three police members were injured. They were taken primary medical aid. The deceased’s are Sohel Hosen, 25, son of Nurul Islam, of village Chawalpara and Munir Hosen, 30, son of Lutfor Rahman of village Kuchkuri of the upazila.Assistant Police Superintendent of Joypurhat Ashok Kumar Paul said, a gang of terrorists were taking preparation to commit robbery at the home of UP chairman AK Azad who was killed by miscreants. Acting on secret information, a team of police rushed to the spot. Sensing presence of the police, the terrorists opened fire on them. In replying, police also shot them and two terrorists were killed on the spot.They are accused in UP chairman Azad murder case, extortion and different kind of crimes, he added.
